Philippa Edmonds, the Designer.
I graduated in Architecture during 1990. Early in my career I worked for Viestus Ceilens & Ray Holliday, both very well known commercial landscape designers. Their influence was great and created in me a passion for landscape design. I have also worked as a designer for Yardstick Landscape Design.
I worked in Architecture for a number of years before deciding to specialise in garden and landscape design. I subsequently graduated with an Advanced Certificate of Urban Horticulture as well a Diploma of Garden Design. This knowledge base, with my work experience, adds depth to my designs, constructions, plantings and maintenance schedules.
I have designed commercial and residential gardens all over Adelaide, from the coast to the hills, north to south. Each site requires a different range of plants which will perform best in its specific soil and microclimate. I have a love of Native & Mediterranean plants. Plants that are well suited to our climate & conditions. There are also plenty of exotic plants that will cope with our climate. It’s a matter of using the right plant, in the right place, to creat a green oasis in your backyard. Garden Designs that can be formal or informal, with the plants that you like and are suited to your conditions.
If asked what drives my garden designs, it would be a desire to create outdoor living spaces for clients to use and enjoy. It is important to optimise your site to it’s full potential. My combination of architectural and horticultural knowledge means that I can guide your project from concept to completion.
